All right, Redmond, let's talk about the hunt for a decent cup. You know the eternal local dilemma: the quest for parking at the Heights is bad enough, but then you also have to gamble on whether your overpriced latte will taste like burnt regret.

This list cuts through the fog, spanning everything from roasting purists who’ll interrogate you about bean origins to a spot where your dog is treated better than you are. We've sipped the bold espresso, we've faced the sticky lid of inconsistency, and we've even found a place to pair your caffeine with a slice of pizza.

So go on, find your new corner of the counter.

Highlights
Freshest beans, roasted within 48 hours
Owner Philip is kind and knowledgeable
Great variety, from 12 oz to 1KG bags
Fun, informative coffee roasting events
Convenient online order and pickup

I walked into Caffe Lusso Roastery expecting a simple cup of coffee, and instead found myself being gently interrogated about bean origins by Philip, the owner, who clearly loves this stuff more than most people love their pets. The beans are roasted within 48 hours, which I initially thought was marketing fluff, but then I tasted the difference—it was like the coffee had just woken up from a nap and was ready to fight. Philip's patience with my basic questions about grind size was saintly, and I left with a 1KG bag of something I can't pronounce but will happily brew for guests. They host roasting events too, which sound like a great way to accidentally learn something. Order online, pick up, and avoid my mistake of staring at the roaster for ten minutes.

Parking plus afternoon iced coffee
Savvy barista with pastry knowledge
Puddings, salads, and pastries
Bold espresso scent, open early
Killer rewards system, freebies

Mercurys Coffee Co. - Pure is my afternoon savior, mostly because it has actual parking, which in Redmond feels like finding a unicorn. The barista behind the counter knew her pastries better than I know myself, recommending a butter croissant that paired perfectly with my iced coffee, which arrived bold and unapologetic. The place opens early, and the espresso scent hits you before you even reach the door, which is either a great marketing move or a caffeine-based ambush. Their rewards system is dangerously rewarding—I've already earned two free drinks, and I'm not ashamed to admit I planned my week around that. Puddings, salads, and pastries line the case, but the coffee is the real star here.

Highlights
Seasonal drinks worth trying
Friendly baristas with care
Great coffee, inconsistent ice
Adaptable, responsive management team
Convenient stop for commuters

The second Mercurys Coffee Co. I tried was a study in contrasts, mostly because the seasonal drinks are genuinely worth the hype—the pumpkin spice here tastes like actual pumpkin, not just a candle. The baristas are friendly, the kind of people who remember your name after you've been in twice, which is both flattering and slightly unsettling. The coffee itself is solid, but the ice situation is a gamble; sometimes you get a glass full of ice cubes that melt within minutes, diluting your drink into sadness. Still, the management team is adaptable and responsive, so they might fix that eventually. For commuters, this spot is a godsend, right off the main drag. Just ask for light ice, and you'll be fine.

Highlights
Inconsistent drink quality across branches
Pricey coffee with inattentive service
Hygiene concerns on drink lids
Baristas ignore clear customer instructions
Poor value for premium prices

I wanted to love this Mercurys location, I really did, but the experience left me grumpier than a morning person at midnight. The drink quality varies wildly between visits—one day your latte is perfect, the next it tastes like the barista forgot the espresso. The prices are premium, which might be acceptable if the service matched, but I watched a barista ignore someone's clear instructions (oat milk, not almond) and just hand over the wrong drink. Hygiene also took a hit when I noticed a sticky residue on my lid; I'm not saying it was a biohazard, but I did wipe it off with a napkin before sipping. For the money, you'd expect better. Maybe stick to their other branches.

Best espresso, genuinely kind staff
Dog-friendly service keeps us coming
Dye-free syrups and superior chocolate
Patient baristas craft unforgettable drinks

This Mercurys Coffee Co. is the one I keep coming back to, mostly because the espresso here is the best I've had in Redmond—rich, smooth, and complex, without the burnt bitterness that plagues other places. The staff are genuinely kind, and one barista even remembered my dog's name and brought out a water bowl without asking. The syrups are dye-free, which I didn't know I cared about until I learned that, and their chocolate is superior to anything else in a mocha. Patient baristas crafted a lavender latte that was so good I almost cried, and that's not an exaggeration; I'm just a little emotional about coffee. Dog-friendly service seals the deal. This is my home base now.

Amazing pizza alongside coffee

Cozy indoor and outdoor seating
Community World Cup screenings

Jack Sprat is what happens when a coffee shop decides it also wants to be your neighborhood pizza joint and your World Cup viewing party, and it somehow works. The rewards points for regulars are a nice touch—I've already earned a free pizza, which is a dangerous incentive. The pizza itself is amazing, with a crust that's crisp on the outside and chewy on the inside, and it pairs surprisingly well with their coffee, which is decent but not the main event. Open until 8pm, it's one of the few places in Redmond where you can get a late-evening caffeine fix or a slice. Cozy indoor seating and a small outdoor area make it a communal spot, especially during soccer matches. Community feels strong here.

Highlights
Fresh, delicious cookies daily
Warm, cozy neighborhood atmosphere
Friendly, outstanding customer service
Aggressively homemade Snickerdoodle cookies
Easy light rail access from Seattle

Midnight Cookie Co. is the kind of place that makes you wish your midnight cravings were more civilized, because they bake cookies fresh every day, and they are deliciously soft, with a slight chew that borders on perfection. The atmosphere is warm and cozy, like your grandma's living room, if your grandma had great taste in lighting and a very modern oven. The customer service is outstanding—I was greeted with a smile that didn't feel fake, and they even asked about my day (they probably didn't care, but it's nice). The snickerdoodles are aggressively homemade, which means they're slightly lumpy, generously cinnamon-y, and utterly addictive. If you're coming from Seattle, the light rail drops you off nearby. Come hungry, leave happy.

Highlights
Fast, friendly Korean BBQ bowls
Wings and fries shine
Sauces best served on side
Homey, convenient quick stop
Solid new Redmond option

Seoul Bowl Redmond is a quick stop that packs a punch, serving up Korean BBQ bowls faster than you can say 'bulgogi.' The food is fast and friendly, with bowls that are generous and flavorful, though the sauces are best ordered on the side—they're potent, and you'll want to control the heat. The wings and fries are the real stars, crispy and saucy, perfect for a messy lunch. The space is homey, the kind of place where you can pop in for a solo bite and not feel awkward. It's a solid new option in Redmond, even if it's not a traditional coffee shop. But hey, they have drinks too. Just bring your appetite.

Highlights
Fresh bagels made in-house
Vegan cream cheese available
Friendly, smiling counter staff
Clean, bright, open space

Rubinstein Bagels is a revelation in a town that takes its bagels as seriously as its coffee, which is to say, pretty seriously. The bagels are made in-house, and you can taste the freshness—chewy, slightly crusty, and warm enough to melt the cream cheese on contact. They even have vegan cream cheese, which is a nice nod to the dairy-averse among us, and it's surprisingly good, not at all like a sad tofu spread. The counter staff are friendly and smile like they actually enjoy their jobs, which is rare enough to note. The space is clean, bright, and open, with plenty of seating, and it feels like the kind of place where you could happily watch the morning unfold. I'd come here even if it didn't have coffee, but it does, so I will.

Highlights
Friendly staff and clean space
Smooth online ordering process
Strong LGBTQ+ welcoming atmosphere
Excellent discounts for regulars
Great product selection, loved balm

Hashtag Cannabis Redmond is not a coffee shop, but I'm including it because sometimes your coffee needs a little extra something, and this place delivers on that front. The staff are friendly and the space is immaculately clean, which is more than I can say for some places I've visited in this town. The online ordering process is smooth, so you can skip the awkward in-store browsing if you know what you want. They're strongly LGBTQ+ welcoming, which makes the place feel safe and inclusive, and their discounts for regulars are generous enough to keep me coming back. The product selection is solid, and I highly recommend their balm for those late-night caffeine-induced headaches. This is a place that gets customer care right, even if it's not about the beans.

Friendly, attentive, helpful staff
Clean, quiet, professional workspace
Strong Wi-Fi and free coffee
Safe parking and convenient garage access

thinkspace REDMOND is the kind of co-working spot that makes you wonder why every office isn't this civilized. The pricing is clear, with no hidden fees, which is so rare it deserves its own parade. The staff are friendly and attentive, but not in that overbearing way that makes you want to hide in a conference room—they just show up when you need help and vanish when you're in the zone. The Wi-Fi is strong, the coffee is free (yes, free), and the workspace is clean and quiet enough to hear your own thoughts, which is both a blessing and a curse. Parking is safe, the garage access is convenient, and I may have accidentally worked here for six hours. Sorry, not sorry.

Cozy hangout for hours
Great flavored drinks
Friendly regulars gathered here
Hot savory biscuit options

Tite Knot Craft Coffee is the sort of place where you walk in for a quick cup and end up staying until your laptop dies, because it's just too comfortable to leave. The savory scones with gravy are a revelation—I didn't know I needed gravy on a scone, but now I can't imagine going back. The flavored drinks are generous with the syrups, which I appreciate; no timid hints of vanilla here. The regulars gather here like it's a family reunion, and they'll happily chat with you about the weather or the best route to Seattle. Hot savory biscuit options round out the menu, and I suggest you try them before you commit to a full meal elsewhere. Cozy, quirky, and dangerously easy to overstay.
